Q: What is a Virtual Job Fair?
A: Virtual Job Fair is similar to the traditional job fair where job seekers have the opportunity to meet recruiters from businesses. The only difference is that it takes place online, so there is not need for job seekers to commute to a brick and mortar job fair. Job seekers can apply to many jobs in one session with the click of a mouse.
Q: What is the cost to participate?
A: There is not cost for job seekers to participate
Q: How is the job seekers information protected?
A: The site uses 128 bit encryption throughtout the process to ensure protection of data. Polk Works also only gives registered employers who agree to abide by our Terms of Use access to job seekers resumes.
Q: Do job seekers have to agree with the Terms of Use?
A: Terms of Use must be accepted in order to proceed with entering the Virtual Job Fair.
Q: Can job seekers register at any time?
A: No, Job seekers may register during the dates and times (24/7) the Virtual Job Fair is active.
Q: Is a job seekers is registered in EFM, does he/she need to register for the Virtual Job Fair?
A: Yes, all job seekers must register and create a resume to participate.
Q: If job seekers registered for a past Virtual Job Fair, must they register again?
A: Yes, but with some new changes being made to the website, you will be provided with an option for the system to keep your resume on file for six months.
Q: How do job seekers add their resumes?
A: During the registration process, you will be asked to post your resume for the positions you are applying. You can either upload or copy & paste.
Q: How do job seekers check to see if a resume was posted?
A: When job seekers first post a resume, a screen will appear that confirms your resume was applied to the job position. The system will not allow job seekers to submit more than one resume for each job position.
Q: How do job seekers apply for a job?
A: On the job detail screen, job seekers will be able to see the full details of the position posted and will see a prominent "Apply Now" button at the bottom.
Q: How do job seekers change an email address or other personal information?
A: The change an email address or other personal information, job seekers are to log on to the account using the email address and password that they used during their initial registration. Once logged in, click "Review/Update Personal Info"
Q: How can a job seekers get assistance if her/she is having a technical problem with the Virtual Job Fair site?
A: Send an email to BSU@polkworks.org and describe your issue. Someone will respond during normal business hours (8am to 5pm).

A: If an employer is interested in setting up an interview, the job seeker should hear from the employer either by phone or email.
